Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information ProTech Appliance Repair (PROTECH APPLIANCE & EQUIPMENT REPAIR INC, “we”, “us”) collects through this website and when you call us or book a repair, what we do with it, and the choices you have. We are an appliance repair business based in Sayreville, New Jersey.

The short version

  • The only personal details we collect are the ones you give us: your name, phone number and message when you ask us to call you back or book a repair. Our hosting service also keeps the usual technical records of each visit, described below.
  • We use it to call you back, arrange the visit, do the repair and send you text messages about your job — the visit, estimates and invoices.
  • We don’t sell it, and we don’t use it for advertising.
  • This website sets no cookies and has no analytics or advertising trackers.

What we collect

  • The booking form (“Request a service call”): your name, your phone number and, if you write one, a message about your appliance — for example its brand, model and the problem.
  • The callback form on the home page (“Instant callback”): your phone number only.
  • A phone call to (732) 858-0707: your phone number and what you tell us about your appliance.
  • A visit: to come to you, we also need the address where the repair is needed.

We don’t ask for payment card numbers, dates of birth or government ID numbers through this website.

How the forms reach us

When you send one of the forms, the website passes what you typed to a small program on our hosting service, Vercel, which sends it to us as a message in Telegram, the messaging app we use to receive requests. The message holds what you typed, the page you sent it from and the time. It goes only to the Telegram chat where we receive requests.

The program keeps no copy of your request. Its log notes only whether a request went through and, if not, why — never your name, phone number or message. To stop floods of automated requests, it counts how many requests come from each internet address over 10 minutes; that count stays in its working memory and is never saved. The website also notes how long a form was open before it was sent, only to tell a person from an automated program.

If a request can’t be sent, the form tells you so and shows our phone number, (732) 858-0707.

Telegram keeps messages on its servers so they can be read on our devices. Its privacy policy explains how it protects them.

Our customer service team then enters your request into Housecall Pro, the customer-management system where we keep the records of our customers and their repairs. Requests you make by phone go there too.

How we use it

  • to call you back about your request;
  • to agree the day and time of the visit with you;
  • to send you messages about your job — the visit, estimates and invoices. We send them through Housecall Pro, which delivers them as text messages (SMS) to your phone;
  • to carry out the repair and look after it afterwards, for example under its 60-day warranty;
  • to answer your questions.

We don’t send advertising or newsletters, we don’t add you to a mailing list, and we don’t sell or rent your details to anyone.

Who else sees it

At ProTech, your details are seen by our customer service managers and dispatchers, who take the calls and arrange the visits, and by the technician who does your repair. A technician sees only the customers they serve, not other technicians’ customers.

The services that carry or keep your information for us: Vercel (the website’s hosting), Telegram (the messages from the website), Housecall Pro (our customer records and the text messages about your job) and the phone companies that connect our calls and deliver those messages. We may also share information when the law requires it.

Hosting and technical data

This website is hosted by Vercel Inc. When you open a page, your browser sends the usual technical information to Vercel’s servers: your IP address, the page asked for, the time, and your browser’s type and settings. Vercel processes it on our behalf to deliver the website, keep it secure and record errors. We don’t use it to find out who you are. See Vercel’s privacy policy.

Cookies and your browser

This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics, advertising or social media trackers. Its fonts, pictures and videos come from the website itself, not from other companies’ servers. No other company collects information about your online activity over time or across other websites through this website.

One thing is kept in your browser. On the washer and dishwasher pages, the “Look inside” picture has a Light / Night switch. When you use it, your browser remembers your choice (in its local storage, under the name ls-style) so the picture opens the same way next time. It stays on your device and is never sent to us. Clearing this website’s data in your browser removes it.

Because the website doesn’t track you, it works the same whether or not your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal.

How long we keep it

The records of our work with you — your requests, visits, estimates, invoices and our messages about them — stay in our Housecall Pro account as part of our business records, with no set date for deleting them.

Your choices

You can ask us what information we have about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email protech.appliance.nj@gmail.com or call (732) 858-0707. We may need to confirm it’s you before we act on a request, and we keep the records we need as a business, such as estimates, invoices and warranty records.

Security

The website sends what you type over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). We keep customer records in our customer-management system, where each technician sees only their own customers, and we share them only as this policy describes. No way of sending or storing information is completely secure, but we take reasonable care to protect yours.

Children

This website is meant for adults arranging a repair. It is not directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Links to other websites

Some pages link to other websites — for example, the sources listed on our town pages, such as the U.S. Census Bureau. Those websites have their own privacy policies.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will post the new version on this page with a new “Last updated” date.
